Another easy way is to use the free Brocade software SANHealth. You can get all the details of the switch, including the IBM and Brocade parts.

Excellent point. <br /> I am actually half way through a blog piece on this subject, so your comment is timely! Thanks!

Nice blog. By the way for all the current B-Series switches the command chassisshow will reveal the IBM name and the IBM serial number.

hi <br /> the brocade 4020 ( FRU 32R1812) is compatible with the storwize V7000 in the web the <br /> IBM Storwize V7000 Supported Hardware List, Device Driver, Firmware and Recommended Software does not show?

When you look here: <br /> <div>&nbsp;</div> You see this rather annoying comment: <br /> For BladeCenter switch module, Passthrough module, switch vendor interconnectivity and supported firmware levels, please visit the IBM BladeCenter support website <br /> I then checked SSIC: <br /> <div>&nbsp;</div> Your switches is not listed with V7000. Contact IBM Sales to get a SCORE request raised.

Dear Anthony,Pls suggest the cable type for the san switch. <br /> 2498-24E SAN24B-4 Express <div>&nbsp;</div> regards <br /> ahmar

The Serial cable is an RJ45 to DB9 cable. <br /> It should have shipped with the switch. <br /> The pinouts can be found in this document: <div>&nbsp;</div>;aid=1 <div>&nbsp;</div> If you want to order a SAN24 serial cable, order 22R3952 from IBM Spare parts division.

Dear Anthony, <br /> We have the Brocade switch and I cannot access the GUI interface and it does not ping ether.I checked the Management IP from the console session using Putty and the IP is the default. Is it possible that the port has been shutdown or disabled,if so how to enable it so we can access the GUI mode. <br /> Kindly suggest <br /> regards <br /> Ahmar

Hi Ahmar, <div>&nbsp;</div> Sorry but this is the comments section of a blog post, not a help forum. Your comments are not really relevant to the article. <div>&nbsp;</div> I suggest you place a service call with iBM. If you don't have service, try the Developerworks Storage Forum? <br />

does IBM Model (2005- B32 ) refers to 20port 4GB brocade Bladecenter SAN SWITCH?. (32R1812)?. <div>&nbsp;</div> I am trying to figure out the latest IBM Supported FOS for this particular switch. My confusion is if its 6.2.2d or 6.4.3d. <div>&nbsp;</div> And I need the interoperability of this switch with FOS version 6.2.2d and NX-OS 5.2.1 on a Cisco MDS 9509 where 32R1812 is working in AG mode connected to MDS.
