John, I appreciated your article. Memory both on Windows and Linux/Unix systems has always been a mystery to me. This article has helped to aleviate some of the that. Do you have any additional articles for memory on Linux/Unix systems or memory in general?   Thanks, Ed Simpson

It's AIX-based but I think it conveys some of the core precepts needed to understand how things work.
