Migrate to the latest release of WebSphere Application Server

The idea behind this blog entry is to house multiple related links to WebSphere Application Server (WAS) V6.1 Going End of Support and Upgrading or Migrating to WAS V8.5.
It's not the end of the world, but yes, WAS 6.1 is going out of support in September 2012 2013. What's your plan?
Update: IBM has decided to extend the WebSphere Application Server V6.1 End of Support date, giving you another year of support while you plan your upgrade to one of the latest releases, the NEW End of Support date is September 30 2013! Everyone with Software Subscription and Support contracts has the ability to migrate to more current versions for no additional cost. Why not get started today?
One of those options is migrating to WAS V8.5, while you may be comfortable and stable with your V6.1 environment, you really are missing out on all the benefits of the latest release, not to mention without a support agreement you are putting your business at risk. There is much more concern if your out there on an old unsupported version than being on the latest which holds more features and enhancements in areas of performance, security, reliability, etc. Below are some good links to get you thinking and have you moving forward with technology rather than standing still...

Why wouldn't you be running the latest versions? IBM is dedicated to improving the product, if you think V6.1 was a vast improvement over V5 then what's holding you up in migrating to the latest enhancements included in V8.5?
