Have you checked your system parameters? Often System Administrators are asked to install the WebSphere MQ Software and are not given the necessary background information to prepare their system and perform the kernel tuning parameters necessary for optimum WebSphere MQ performance. This ends up causing resource issues as a result once the applications are deployed and load tested.
The WebSphere MQ information center includes a "Quick Beginnings" guide for each platform that has a section for kernel configuration and/or resource limit configuration.
One of the quickest, simplest ways to check your setup for a distributed platform is the mqconfig script that can be found in this "How to configure UNIX IPC resources for WebSphere MQ" document. It gives a quick output which clearly shows FAIL for any settings that don’t meet the minimum recommendations. For example (click graphic to enlarge):
