IBM Integration Bus: New information in a familiar place

In June 2013 IBM Integration Bus (IIB) V9.0 was made available as the newest version of what was previously known as WebSphere Message Broker (WMB). IIB offers a lot of new and updated features. IIB not only advances the WMB product line but it also incorporates and evolves a lot of the function from WebSphere ESB. A really good place to start learning about what is new with IIB is the developerWorks technical article: What
If you have read that article, or if you have heard about IIB V9 elsewhere, or if you have already started to work with IIB V9, you probably want to find more information about IIB V9. The place to find it that information is a place that you are probably already familiar with if you are a WMB user. The IIB information in the IBM Support Portal is located on the WebS
Since IIB is actually an advancement of the WMB product, much of the information that applies to IIB will apply to WMB and likewise, much of the WMB information will apply to IIB. Because much of the information is shared and because the WMB Support Pages have been in place for a number of years, the IIB information is located on the WMB Support pages. Unfortunately, due to the design of the Support Pages, we can not simply rename the pages to be 'WebSphere Message Broker and IBM Integration Bus' and thus the name of the pages will remain as WebSphere Message Broker in Support Portal. We are sorry for any confusion this may cause but we felt this option would be less confusing than attempting to have 2 separate support portal pages, for different versions of the same product. It would also be confusing when trying to keep the information posted on 2 different sets of pages in synchronization with each other.
Because the name of the support page will remain as WebSphere Message Broker, this might cause some confusion when trying to find IBM Integration Bus in the "Product Quick Find" search box on the left hand side of the IBM support pages. The search results will return an entry named WebSphere Message Broker because that is the name of the pages where the IIB information is located. You will not see a search result returned with the name IBM Integration Bus:
Another point of confusion may be the "Software Version" numbers that appear on the right hand side of the technotes:
In the example above It lists the applicable versions as 6.1, 7.0, 8.0 but does not list V9.0 there. Due to design of the technote database, because V9.0 is named IBM Integration Bus, it must be listed separately. Therefore, there is a separate "Cross Reference" listed at the bottom of the page to identify this technote as being applicable to V9.0 as well:
Many of the WMB technotes that existed prior to IIB are relevant to IIB but they do not have a cross reference in them. We are in the process of reviewing and updating those preexisting technotes to add the cross reference to IIB V9.0. This is an ongoing process that will take time. So you may find technotes created for WMB that do not yet have a cross reference. If you find one and you are not sure if it applies to V9, please let us know by leaving feedback on that technote and we will update the document to add the cross reference or to make it clear that it is not relevant. In the case where we create a technote for IIB V9, we will add a cross reference to WMB if it applies to both the current version and previous versions.
The following technote has also been created to help clarify any confusion: Find
As a reminder that IIB information is available on the WMB pages, we have also added that technote in the "Support Shortcuts" at the top of the WebS
Hopefully this will all serve to make it less confusing when you want to find information about IBM Integration Bus.
Besides the WMB Support Pages, there are other places, some old and some new, where you can also find information about IIB V9:
