Create GIS Object without an ArcGIS Feature Service
No Feature Service? No problem. We can still get your records linked Keep in mind, this will give you the ability to only see your records on the map, but it will limit some functionality with updating records directly to GIS . WIth that being said, let's start! First, we need to actually use a feature service to create the object. 1. Create a template Maximo Spatial GIS Object with no attributes using a Map Service that has an associated Feature Service (Uncheck all Attributes) 2. Delete the template service from the Map Manager... [More]

How can I use Service Contracts?
I would like to share an example of how to use the Service Contract. because I have not found many examples about it. You can create a service contract with the total cost $ 58,080.00 You could create a service line or a standard service line (Service Items application) Still in Draft status, you can manage the payment, I mean; you can schedule payments as follows: 44 weeks would be approximately 10 months, so I put as a payment period from Feb 01 to Dec 05 Approve the Contract So you will have 10 invoices $5808.00 but you... Repairing items and PO's, quick and easy.
Over the last few weeks I have been speaking to more and more people with questions as to the best process for repairing assets. In the previous versions of Maximo there was never really an easy way of doing this, this has changed since Maximo 75. In versions 75 and later there has been a Repair Facilty option added, this little addition makes things so much easier. The next key to this and the most important part is the PO. I have seen many customers create the PO against an item, wrong, we want to create the PO against a service. The... [More]

Preventing 'normal' users accessing Maximo during configuration changes and testing
OverView Sometimes an admin needs to make some changes or maybe even to test some changes in their Maximo system and needs to prevent the 'normal' users from accessing the system, potentially corrupting the data during the config or testing and generally making a nuisance of themselves ( or working , as they like to call it ). There is a function called Admin Mode available in Maximo and this can be set up to allow one or more Administrative users to access the system locally while preventing 'normal' users from... [More]

Setting up Maximo Application server to use Node Monitoring in WebSphere
Previously, it was recommended to setup the Maximo Application
Server (default name: MXServer) as a service in Windows. That
recommendation has now changed. Beginning
with Maximo Asset Management 7.1 technical support now
recommends the usage of WebSphere Node Monitoring. This setting looks
to the NodeAgent Windows service and applies the appropriate state to
the MXServer. To implement Node Monitoring use the following steps:
1) Log into WebSphere Integrated Solutions Console.
2) From the left navigation select Servers... [More]

Integration Framework - Web Services based interoperability
An important interoperability feature in Maximo is its capability of interacting with external applications via web service calls. Support of this type of integration scenario is achieved by the deployment of Integration Framework services (Object Structure, Enterprise, and Standard) as web services (inbound integration scenario) and by calling external web services by means of web service compliant end point (outbound integration scenario). Prior to Maximo 7.5 release, the Integration Framework support of web service interoperability was... [More]
