Work Order Tracking location and asset business rule In the Maximo product, the Work Order Tracking application

versions 5.x, 6.x and 7.x, right up to the most recent 7.5, a business rule is
automatically applied that can be stated as follows: Populate the Asset field if

How to configure Maximo Mobile with SSL?
Maximo Mobile applications are Java based applications that run on Windows based devices, such as PDAs with Windows Mobile, and Netbooks, Notebooks and Desktops. Those applications use a HTTP channel to exchange data, like Assets, Locations, Work Orders and Tickets with Maximo EAM. The HTTP protocol by itself does not provide cryptography on the data transport. The combination of HTTP + SSL (Security Socket Layer) support the data exchange between the server that hosts Maximo EAM and the Maximo Mobile applications. This combination is widely... [More]

Running the Asset Cost Rollup report in Maximo 7.5
Recently a client contact presented an issue regarding running above report which was timing out (with stuck threads listed in logs) as it was very large. This was later revealed to be due to never running the report in all the years the client has had Maximo installed. The business partner working on behalf of the client, devised a method to avoid time out's by using a where clause and also to run the report in chunks rather than the whole period.... [More]

Upgrading Maximo 7.5 to Maximo 7.6 (part 1)
Now I'm going to upgrade my Maximo Upgrade database. This is a maxdemo database that I upgraded from 6.2.3 a few years ago. I updated it to 7.5.0.6 in March to ready it for the upgrade. I was going to do the upgrade then, but some things came up. I was successful once, but it was not 100% to my liking. I want to be able to show a smooth and simple upgrade. So, here we go.
