Want To Know More About Maximo Changes in View Manage Queries?

Body

Changes in the Maximo "View Manage Queries" functionality will be explained.  This article highlights the differences in the functionality.  There  are three new security sigoptions that have been added.  These are not automatically granted.  The Maximo administrator will need to explicitly enable sigoptions for users that require permission to view or edit queries from the View Manage Queries pull down under Save Query on the list tab.

The first two sigoptions apply to all applications that offer this functionality.   These allow queries to be viewable and editable on the View Manage Query dialog of the list tab, when they are enabled.

First New Sigoption:
Name:  "Sigoption to control the visibility of the Detail section in View/Manage Queries dialog"
Description:  This option allows the user to expand the query and see the SQL commands in the where clause (appears read only).

Second New Sigoption:

Name:   "Sigoption to control the editability of the Clause field in View/Manage Queries dialog"
Description:  This option allows users to edit queries they have created.  Please note:  the user will not be able to edit queries that were created by others.

Steps to enable either of the above new sigoptions:
a.  Go to the security group application.
b.  Open the desired security group.
c.  Go to the application tab.
d.  In the application tab, filter on the desired application (i.e. Purchase Order, Escalation, etc.).
e.  On the bottom table of the screen, in the filter description field enter:  %sigoption%
f.    Enable one or both of the new sigoptions and save the security group.

Third New Sigoption:
This is for the Escalation, Scheduler and Service Level Agreement applications only.  It determines whether the SQL Expression Builder Condition field is editable or not.

Escalation Application:
Repeat Steps a through f above.  The third sigoption for the Escalation application is called:  "Sigoption to control visibility of the condition fields in Escalation app"
When enabled, the user will see the Escalation Condition and the Escalation Point Condition field.

Scheduler Application:
Repeat Steps a through f above.  The third sigoption for the Scheduler application is called:   "Sigoption to control visibility of the Where Condition fields in Scheduler app"
With this enabled, the user can see the Condition field entry on these tabs:  Work Queries,  Additional Resources and Resources Availability.

Service Level Agreement Application:

Repeat Steps a through f above.  The third sigoption for the Service Level Agreement Application is called:  "Sigoption to control visibility of the condition / where clause fields in SLA app"
When this is enabled, the Condition field will be editable on the Escalation tab on the Escalation table.  This also applies to the Additional SLA Criteria tab.
