Managing Design Change with Maximo Asset Configuration Manager (ACM)

Technical Blog Post

Abstract

Managing Design Change with Maximo Asset Configuration Manager (ACM)

Body

Asset Configuration Manager (CM) contains a powerful tool for creating and managing critical time-dependent maintenance or design change tasks that typically apply to an entire fleet.

The Technical Records (CM) application is used to manage and apply changes issued by manufacturers, vendors, regulatory agencies, and others.

Technical Records (CM) can be used to manage the following types of records from manufacturers, vendors, and regulatory agencies:

  • Airworthiness Directives. (AD's are issued when an aviation authority finds that an unsafe condition exists in a product (aircraft, aircraft engine, propeller, or appliance.)
  • Configuration rule-change documentation.
  • Customer service notices.
  • Engineering and design publications.
  • Fleet-level and component-level projects .

These Technical records can then be used to trigger maintenance events and affect work planning forecasts.
