Technical Blog Post

Abstract

Error BMXAA6177E encountered when importing linear asset features using the Maximo Integration Framework (MIF)

Body

When importing linear asset features using the MIF, the following error may be encountered: "BMXAA6177E - Reference Point and End Measure must be between the linear asset's Start Measure 0.00 and End Measure 681,700.00." While this error is sometimes appropriate, the error should not be seen when the sum of the start and end measures and the respective start and end offsets on an asset feature are within defined Start and End measures of the linear asset.  In addition to insuring that the latest cumulative hot fix has been applied, the ASSETFEATURE object structure needs to be modified within the Integration>Object Structures application. The changes needed are as follows:

In the Object Structures application, use the Exclude Fields action to exclude the 2 following attributes from the ASSETFEATURE object:

    STARTBASEMEASURE
    ENDBASEMEASURE

In the Object Structures application, use the Inbound Setting Restrictions action to set the Override and Restricted check boxes to true for the following attributes on the ASSETFEATURE object:

    STARTMEASURE
    STARTOFFSET
    ENDMEASURE
    ENDOFFSET

Offsets only come into play when the asset feature's start and/or end measures are defined relative to an already-existing reference asset feature. As a result, this problem will not be seen when using absolute measures to define a new asset feature.
