BiLog: Smallest Post Office and V71 to V75 Upgrade Best Practices![]() While the post master of Ochopee may not be considering an upgrade due to the sentimental value of their facility, you may be considering an upgrade from Version 7.1x to Version 7.5. Backup Your Files Before performing an upgrade, make sure to back up your report directories from the V71x database, and also your report source. Remember - during the install process of Version 7.5x, any new reports that have been added to the release are brought in thru the install. Any updates that have been made to existing report design files - either delivered or your custom report design files - must be brought in thru the Import Command Utilities. You can find details on recommendations for backing up your files here Versions 1. In Version 7.5.0.0 thru 7.5.0.2, BIRT 2.3.2 is used. This is the same version that has been used since Version 7.1.1.5. *NOTE: If you are upgrading from Version 7.1.1.4 or lower, which uses BIRT 2.1.2, review the 'Upgrading to BIRT 2.3.2 in Version 7' Guide. JRE 1.6 is recommended for 7.5. If you are not using this version, you may want to upgrade to JRE 1.6 if you haven't already. The first instance is your existing 7.1 instance, which is configured to use the 7.1 libraries and scripting classes. The second would be a new 7.5 instance, still using BIRT 2.3.2, but configured to use the 7.5 libraries and scripting classes. New Version 7.5 features In Version 7.5, you can enable the display of RTF (Rich text formatting) in the long description fields of your reports. Each of the delivered reports that use long descriptions (LD) have been updated so RTF displays in the LD. However, if you have any custom reports with LD fields - they should upgrade the these custom reports.
