Understanding new features in Maximo 7.6 - Label Positioning

Body

Maximo 7.6 has recently been released and adds a number of great new user interface

features.

Starting in Maximo 7.6 there is a System Property that determines if the field labels in applications

displays above or beside the screen control.  This property is called mxe.webclient.verticalLabels

and is set to 1 (above) by default on a fresh install and 0 (beside) by default on an upgrade.
To change the value go to System Configuration, Platform Configuration, System Properties.  Then

filter for the correct property value, change the global value, and save.  Lastly select the check box

beside the property and then click on "Live Refresh".  With the property set to 1 the labels will display

above and look like this:

With the property set to 0 the labels will display beside and look like this:

The mxe.webclient.verticalLabels property now gives you a choice of displaying your information more horizontally

across the page or vertically down the page.
