Tidbits : Moving a Clearance (Nuclear) record to READY

Technical Blog Post

Abstract

Tidbits : Moving a Clearance (Nuclear) record to READY

Body

In most of the core Maximo applications, the process of changing status of a record is fairly standard.

Usually, the record starts it's life in WAPPR (Waiting for Approval), DRAFT or INACTIVE. You have a Change Status Toolbar button and you can proceed to change the status as per the options available in this Change Status dialog.

There are some applications however, where the process of changing status is different and a bit more complicated to the one mentioned above.

In this blog entry, I am going to show you an example where a Clearance application record's status can be moved from WAPPR --> APPR --> READY.

1. Login to Maximo

2. Go to Operational Management (Nuc) --> Cleareance (Nuc)

3. Create a new Clearance record

===

- You will notice that the status of of the Clearance record is DRAFT.

===

There is no Change Status toolbar button available.

4. Go to the Application Tab and create a Tag

- Tag ID - 1234

- Location - XYZ

- App Position - Closed

- Tag Status - Draft

- Tag Type - Danger

5. Go to the Restoration Tab

- Tag ID - 1234

- Location - XYZ

- App Position - Open

- Tag Status - Draft

- Tag Type - Danger

6. Save the Clearance Record

7. Go to Select Actions --> TO Approvals --> Approve Application

8. Go to Select Actions --> SRO Approvals --> Approve Application

===

9. At this stage, the Clearance record is changed to APPR

===

10, Go to Select Actions --> Tag Data --> Apply Tags and click on Apply Default Data

11. Apply Tags dialog is displayed.

12. Select the Tag and click ok.

===

13. Clearance record --> Application Tab --> Tag Status is changed to APPLIED

===

===

14. Also, the status of the main Clearance record is changed to READY

===

Hope you found this useful!
