Quick simple steps how to determine detailed JRE version on your client station or server

Body

Hello,

My name is Edgar Mengelberg and I have been working with the Maximo and TPAE product suite in various Support roles for over 15 years.

Often customers ask me what the quickest , most accurate way will be in finding the used JRE a.k.a Java Runtime Engine version on their client station or server.

Here are some dead-easy to follow steps in order to establish this as follows:

1)Click on your Start( left button corner on your desktop bar) button .

2)Click on the Run... option.

3) Type in CMD and click OK to bring up the DOS prompt.

4) Then type in java -version

N.B!: Make sure you leave a space between java and -version

5) Press "Enter" and voila, this will give you all the JRE info you need.

If you find this short blog useful in finding out detailed info for your used JRE ,  please click the "Like" button to show your appreciation and follow me here -->  Follow me and my blogs on DevWorks here!
