Preventive Maintenance hierarchy with different frequencies is not generating correct forecast.

Technical Blog Post

Abstract

Preventive Maintenance hierarchy with different frequencies is not generating correct forecast.

Body

When a PM hierarchy generates Work Orders or a forecast and you are getting more or less work orders/forecast than expected.

When a PM hierarchy generates Work Orders or a forecast, the highest frequency belonging to any PM with attribute "USEFREQUENCY" set to true will be used for all PMs in that hierarchy.

For example:

Consider a PM hierarchy with a top-level PM and a child PM, with respective frequencies of one year, and one month.

Top-level PM - frequency 1 year
Child PM - frequency 1 month

If "USEFREQUENCY" is set to true for the child PM, generating WOs for the parent PM will generate either two or twenty-four WOs, depending on whether "USEFREQUENCY" is set to false or true for the child PM.

For PMs with differing frequencies against the same asset, location, or route,  it is recommended to maintain separate PM hierarchies.
