Abstract
Notable future in WebSphere 8.5.X that improves fail over of the messaging engine using data store.

In a previous versions of the Web Sphere did observe the messaging engine behavior
when after the fail over, it couldn’t obtain an exclusive lock and register in SIBOWNER
table because the the failed server kept holding lock on a data store. That would lead to cluster
restart and application down time.
In new WAS8.5 the option “ Restrict long running locks” was introduced and the algorithm
used behind ths future allows the switch phase to be quick with no service interruption
