New features in Maximo for Aviation version 7.6.2

The latest version of Maximo® for Aviation offers new features to help you maintain the safety of your aircraft and comply with regulations. Several enhancements simplify and improve customer-management and procurement processes, and a new application enables you to schedule work and resources for aircraft and locations.

In the new Aircraft/Location Graphical Scheduling application, you can create schedules that are based on aircraft, location, and work queries. In the Gantt view, you can see all the work in the schedule, and the resource requirements for that work. You can reschedule work to optimize resources and you can anticipate and avoid scheduling conflicts.

In the Aircraft application, you can record structural damage to an aircraft such as dents or scratches, and track associated repairs. Structural damage records include a graphical representation where you can accurately pinpoint the location of the damage.

You can monitor the weight and balance of an aircraft and record changes to these measurements as they occur. Engineers can identify maintenance activities that result in weight and balance changes, and the mechanics who do these activities can record the changes. Automatic checks are also included so that if the weight and balance variance percentage is reached, an alert is created for the aircraft.

Customer management is simplified by a new feature that enables you to create labor-based price books that can be shared with multiple customers. You can speed up the process of creating customer agreements by creating templates that contain information that is common to all your customer agreements. Various improvements to the billing process include the ability to view billing information on work orders and greater flexibility in managing billing dates.

A new set of applications helps you to maintain safety standards by conducting audits and surveys and addressing defects with actions that comply with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements.

Enhancements in Maximo® for Aviation 7.6.2 simplify and improve procurement processes. You can now check whether a vendor is approved for a procurement order and determine what is covered by a contract with a vendor. You can track supplier certifications and renewals to meet regulatory requirements and set approval rules for vendors.

You can avoid delays when you order parts that are out-of-stock by specifying alternate parts on purchase contract lines. You can prevent unauthorized purchases by specifying a maximum amount on purchase purchasing contracts.
