When users send a BIRT report to a printer from a hyperlink (of another report) in Maximo application, report does not print, as expected. Instead, users may see "401: SRVE0295E: Error reported: 401".
To fix this, navigate to Maximo installation server and locate the web.xml file. The path looks like this: applications\maximo\maximouiweb\webmodule\WEB-INF\web.xml, open the file in text editor and add the following text to web.xml:
Make sure to rebuild and redeploy maximo.ear file to finalize this change.
Try printing reports from a hyperlink again, and this should resolve the error message.
