"What to expect when you're expecting a Work Order"

There are a few scenarios regarding PM Work Order Generation that are frequently misunderstood, or not precisely documented previously.  In some cases, the results are unexpected by some

Maximo users...

• If there is a Forecast for a PM, which has populated a Forecast Date on the PM, then a Work Order will generate on that date.  The Work Order will generate on this date regardless of

whether the PM is set up to only generate Work Orders when a meter frequency is reached.  The summary is that the Forecast Date overrides any meter frequency that is currently applied to

the PM.

• If a PM has both a time-based frequency and a meter-based frequency associated to it, then the Work Orders will generate upon whichever of these frequency intervals is met first.  In

other words, if a PM has a time-based frequency of 3O days as well as a meter based frequency of 100 hours, then a Work Order will get generated at either 30 days, or at 100 hours,

whichever happens first.

*In the above example, the Forecast Date will overrule either frequency, and the Work Order will generate upon the Forecast Date.  (note that the Forecast Exists checkbox is selected):
