Abstract
From the Maximo Support Desk - Assignment Manager Updates to Scheduled Start and Finish Dates May Update Work Orders
Body
Maximo Users have asked if there is a logic or calculation of the Scheduled Start Dates and Scheduled Finish Dates between Assignment Manager and Work Order Tracking.
It is observed in some scenarios that the updates to a Work Order's Scheduled Start and Scheduled Finish dates do not have cascading updates to the Assignment Manager application, or vice-versa. The commonly expected result is that an update to both of these values in the Assignment Manager will update the Work Order with these same values simultaneously from the assignment.
The summary, and the intended functionality of Maximo is that the Scheduled Start And Scheduled Finish values do not update together; they will each update on the Work Order independently, and only under these circumstances:
- When the Assignment Manager is used to schedule an assignment to start on a date greater than the original, the Scheduled Start date will not change to the date greater than original value on the Work Order, but the Scheduled Finish date value will get updated to reflect the greater date.
- Similarly, when the Assignment Manager is used to schedule an assignment to start on a date sooner than the original, the Scheduled Start date will change to the date sooner on the Work Order, but it will not update the original Scheduled Finish date value.
