From the Maximo Support Desk - Asset Topology Viewer No Longer Available

IBM Maximo Asset Management has deprecated the Asset Topology viewer applet, effective upon the release of Maximo Feature Pack 7.6.0.7.  With this deprecation, Maximo no longer relies on applets.

Maximo Users have observed that in Maximo 7.6.0.6, the Topology tab was displayed after following the configuration steps in this technote:

It is critical to note that in Maximo 7.6.0.7, despite following the configuration steps in the aforementioned technote, the Topology tab will not display.  The xml has been updated to omit the following:

tabid="asset_assettopology" is missing in the presentation along with "asset_assettopoapplet"

Additional points regarding this functionality change...

• The information and relationship data that was visually represented in the applet viewer is still available in Maximo. The application will no longer present a visual representation of this data.
• There is no plan to replace this applet.
• There is not a new, or different Topology viewer in the application.

Hopefully this mitigates any perception that there is a defect in any current functionality, this is an intentional product design change.
