Application Designer changes in a Clustered Environment

Technical Blog Post

Abstract

Application Designer changes in a Clustered Environment

Body

Application updates and screen changes are performed in Application Designer and are not propagated to all clients in a clustered server environment

For other cluster members, the cache must be updated manually by either restarting the cluster member or opening the application on each cluster member and saving.

The following steps can be executed on each cluster member to ensure that updates are propagated to all clients.
To make sure that the proper server is being updated, verify the URL which server is currently being accessed during these operations.

Log in to Maximo as an administrative user
Go to configuration | Application Designer
In the Application field enter the name of the Application that is to be modified
Open the record for the application and perform the desired updates and/or screen changes
When the desired modifications are complete, save the record

It is recommended that you export the system xml file before the changes to allow a restore in the event of unwanted or unexpected updates.
