When using VMMSYNC to synchronize user and person records, out of the box you are limited to the attributes that exist as part of the PersonAccount Entity in WebSphere and what exists in the User and Group mappings on the Crontask. This doesn't always fulfill the requirements of the end user who needs to bring more information in from other attributes that exist on a user record in the Active Directory domain. In this post I will outline the process of adding a field to Maximo and then synchronizing data from the directory server into... [More]

2. Change the host, port or whatever information you need to be generated together with the apk to be installed in your device
3. Save the file and then open a command screen... [More]
We often receive requests or in most cases, by the time the PMR reaches us it's become a complaint, that a user received a message that they were about to change the status of X amount of work orders and selected OK anyhow.
Well, X amount can be quite a large amount, and changing their status in one shot is not always the desired outcome that the user's supervisors were looking for.
So the next question after setting X amount of records back to their previous statuses, is how can we prevent this from... [More]

This will show you how to add a toolbar button for an Automation script. I have included a “dummy” script that does not do much,
it is just to show you how to add a toolbar button to an application.
Create the script.
First go to Automation Scripting and create a new Action Launch Point.
For this purpose, I called my Launch Point MYSCRIPT and left the Action to MYSCRIPT as well.
Notice that I picked ASSET for my object, I plan to add this button to the Asset Application. I then select a name for my... [More]

I guess now that the Pulse Conference in sunny Las Vegas (a welcome change from the sub-freezing chill of New England's late winter) has come and gone, it's a good time to look back on my experiences from the demo floor.
As usual (and luckily hahha) my experience was an extremely positive one. Conferences like Pulse give the client as well as the support engineer an opportunity to meet face to face. This is always good because it gives me a chance to meet clients that I've spoken... [More]

I installed Maximo Mobile today and spent hours trying to figure out why I could not get packagemobileandroid to run. I know my setup was correct, no chance I did the setup wrong. After a few attempts, I decided maybe I did something wrong and I should read the install guide, my last resort to figure this out. Sure looked like I had done everything correct, I installed everything without error. I did modify the correct files entering the correct values, still no luck. The error I was getting was "Cannot find... [More]
