Hello out there!
Thank you for finding this community and blog; my goal here is to help you succeed with your implementation and administration of the IBM Tivoli Storage Productivity Center product suite, and to proactively help steer you away from known pitfalls and ease the support process in the event of problems. The views expressed here are my own and based on observations in the field from a TPC L2 support perspective. I aim to keep this community and blog current and technically relevant as a service to all who choose to join and follow.
As a starting point, I'd like to highlight the "MustGather" documents that are maintained by the TPC support organization. You may hear our various support teams use the term "MustGather" though you will likely see documents titled "Collecting Data for <product>". These are one and the same and the differences in terminology reflect a change in naming conventions from some time ago. These documents are designed to help streamline the process of collecting relevant and applicable logs, documentation, settings and information about the product, and the problem that you are seeing. When you are provided with a link to these documents, its extremely helpful when you provide as much of what is requested within them as possible - it helps us dig in deeply from the start, and reduces the need for multiple requests.
I maintain the following "master list" of all TPC MustGather documents, broken down by problem type. http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21302800
If you happen upon these ahead of opening a PMR, that's even better; the more relevant information we have early on. the quicker we can solve your problem. You might consider bookmarking the above link, to refer back to in the event of problems such that you can provide logs and info as soon as you open the PMR. Of course the support representative who you speak with will direct you to the correct set of instructions if you are unsure of where to start.
Again, welcome to this community and blog; I'll post more updates soon.
