The Inspector Search site been updated and enhanced. Try it out:
New functionality includes enhanced descriptions of inspectors. For example:
1. In the Type field, enter substring.
2. Click the Find Inspectors button.
3. It should list 19 inspectors that match that criterion. Click on start of <substring>.
The search result is displayed. Before this addition to the program, no type information was provided. Now there is a full exposition of the Type, the Derived Type (if any) and the Return Type, adding some context to the description. This is actually better than what the printed docs provide, due to space limitations and dwindling forest land.
There are 10,038 Inspectors now, covering 8 platforms and 14 versions. This interface lets Fixlet authors specify the minimum version on each platform that they want to support. It uses those constraints to limit the results to just those Inspectors that will work everywhere on their network. From each search result, you can click the various Type links to re-enter the search program for further exploration.
The Inspector Library is the best way to find information about inspectors and it totally beats trying to open and search through 8 platform docs totaling over 2,000 pages. Hope you find it useful.
