Pre-rendering can be configured to run automatically, or you can manually pre-render a website using a URL. If you configure pre-rendering to run automatically you can schedule it to run at certain times of the day. For greater control such as scheduling pre-rendering to run on specific days you may want to create a cron job (scheduled task) to achieve this.
To run pre-rendering manually you have to be logged into the system as an administrator. To create a scheduled task you will need to pass an administrator username and password as part of the url.
For example if the administrator username is "wpsadmin" with a password of "1234" the URL would look like this:
Together with the linux wget command this can be used in a cron job scheduled task.
See the pre-rendering infocenter article for more information about the pre-rendering task.
