Internet Explorer cannot download items over https ssl connection with IE8 IE 8
Get this error message when attempting to download:
Internet Explorer cannot download <yourfile> from <yoursite>
Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested
site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.
This is caused by IE8 honoring the no-cache setting in the header. If it can't save the item in it's cache it can't download it to the hard drive.
Below solution is for IE 5.x but works for all later versions as well.
To Override the no-cache directive for Internet Explorer 5.01, follow these
