So my idea on how companies can easier adopt and implement enterprise social networking is to use gamification in the tutorial phase of adoption.
What I mean by that is much like how Yelp will provide users certain badges for check-ins at certain locations, the social platform can do something very similar in the early education and adoption phases of the network. You can get a "badge" for joining a self-interest community, a badge for your first ten ideation blogs, a badge for a post getting lots of likes, and so forth. That way you can integrate other techniques like coworkers learning about the platform with one another and then they can start the conversation of "hey, can you help me out on how to *insert endeavor here*." That way they feel like they're rewarded even more so for utilizing the platform which will ultimately yield even better results in the long run.
