In my opinion, the best way to adopt and use enterprise social networking solutions is to make sure that all employees are familiar and comfortable with the platform when introducing it. When working on my IBM social business project, my contact explained that some of the older employees were unsure of how to use the platform. She also said that some of the older employees have asked younger employees to “tutor” them on how to use the platform effectively. If employees don’t know what the platform offers them or how to use it, then they will probably just ignore it altogether and continue using more traditional means of communication instead. A solution to this would be to have a mandatory companywide webinar that goes over the platform thoroughly. The company can also post video tutorials on the platform if any employee needs further assistance in the future.
