I'm very much looking forward to this BLOG experience! I enjoy writing and hope that I am able to share some valuable tips with everyone who is reading.
My passion is getting books published that will help people become more effective when using IBM technology. Although I would love to write and publish more books myself, I feel there are people more qualified than I am. I enjoy meeting with intelligent and talented people and working with them to get their books published so they may enjoy the experience of having a book or two published!
I plan to give tips to authors about how to approach a book and hope to build further awareness for the books that we've already published. I'm constantly surprised that not everyone is aware of all the great books that IBM Press has published over the past few years.
In my job as proctor for DB2 exams, I am asked many questions about how to prepare for exams, how to benefit from certification, and what exams should be taken. I plan to give some advice in this area as well. I give about 300 exams a year to IBM employees at the Toronto Lab and about 2000 per year at conferences. I enjoy talking to people about their experiences and hope to pass some of that knowledge on to you.
I work with a very passionate team of people who are trying to increase the number of skilled DB2 people around the world. I thank my team in advance for giving me the confidence to run this blog and for the tidbits of information that they will ask me to pass along to you. My team has specialists in academia, tutorials, CBTs, certification, training channels, content developers and more! If you have any comments or questions about training programs or opportunities, feel free to post a commment here and with the help of my talented team, I will ensure that you get an answer!
I think that adequately covers my motivations for wanting to own a BLOG. As for my expecations, I hope to be able to find the time to post 2 or 3 times a week and really look forward to hearing from any readers.
That's all for now.
