Today we had a very interesting tweetchat that was organized by our friends at @DB2Geek. The theme today’s debate was “Is the role of a DBA dead?”
If you weren’t able to join us, I’ve managed to pull together many of the comments in a really need way called “storify”: Is the Role of a DBA dead? http://sfy.co/r57H
A few comments came in after I built this story that I wasn’t able to include. The result of today’s debate: The DBA is definitely not dead... but are “Dedicated, Energetic, Advanced and Dynamic!”
Thanks to all who participated and we all hope to have more people join us for the next DB2Debate on June 18 “Is the database a commodity?”
On behalf of the entire DB2 community, I’d like to thank all those who took part.. in particular:
Hint: If you’re new to twitter.... follow these people if you’re interested in DB2 content!
I heard from several people who wanted to join this chat but were getting errors that twitter was down for maintenance. I did get that message as well, but was able to contribute by logging into tweetchat.com. This opens up a new window and once you sign in and search on #db2debate, you are able to see the entire conversation and can contribute without adding the hashtag. It works very well!
