IOD EMEA which took place in Rome last week was a huge success. I'm working on my trip report and will post some of it here.
Monday and Tuesday next week, I'll be at the Toronto conference CCDB2UG where the Central Canada DB2 Users Group is celebrating their 25th anniversary! I'm quite looking forward to my annual visit with some of the most amazing people I've ever met. For more information, see this blog entry I did recently: Local Conference - Central Canada User Group.
I've already began planning for our huge IOD event that will take place in Vegas the last week of October. I'm looking forward to see the sessions and speakers who have been chosen for the event. The bookstore is arranged already, so just the signings are left to plan. I'm hoping this year that we have the book signing events included in the agenda builder so you won't miss what the signings that you want to attend. More on this conference coming up.
I've talked to a few people about the IDUG conference that is taking place in Vienna the second week of November. I'm not sure what my involvement will be at this point, but it would be a nice one to attend, don't you think?
There are many free webinars that are coming up soon... I hope you are able to take advantage of the amazing content that is available to you for free! I know time is always a factor, but most of the webinars are recorded so you can benefit from the content after the fact.
My favourite ones are:
1) DB2Night Show - tomorrow is Sam Lightstone, and there are several more speakers planned for the coming weeks.
2) Chat with the Lab - there was an event today, but you can keep on top of the scheduled and recorded events by joining this group: Channel DB2 Chat with the Lab
3) Surekha Parekh does a fine job of informing the world of the events surrounding DB2 for z/OS. I strongly suggest that you join one of the groups that she posts to in order to stay on top of what's happening. The World of DB2 for z/OS is one of the places she updates regularly.
