Abstract

Real-time Availability Monitor - Enhancements in version 9.5

Body

Enhancements have been made to Real-time Availability Monitor (RTAM) in Release 9.5 to improve RTAM's overall performance and enable businesses to provide their customers with a more detailed and accurate inventory picture.

1. Publish all inventory changes in real time after inventory falls below a specified level. In earlier releases, RTAM published inventory changes only when quantities crossed a threshold, such as when inventory fell below the high threshold, or RTAM published all inventory changes regardless of threshold. Both configurations had disadvantages. Websites received either too much real-time information, which impacted performance, or not enough real-time information, which impacted usability. In Release 9.5, your website displays all inventory changes when inventory is low, which enhances your website's usability without impacting its performance.
This can be configured using the API manageInventoryMonitorRule API to specify AlwaysRaiseBeyondLevel attribute. Please refer to the java doc for more details.

2. RTAM now provides availability by delivery method. Thus, websites provide availability for multiple delivery methods and ensure that published quantities are more detailed and accurate in Release 9.5 than in earlier releases.
This can be configured using the API manageInventoryMonitorRule API to pass DeliveryMethodToMonitor. Please refer to the java doc for more details.

3. In Release 9.5, you can assign priorities to distribution groups that determine the sequence in which unassigned quantities are distributed to distribution groups. In earlier releases, when RTAM considered unassigned quantities for multiple distribution groups, the assignment of open quantities was undetermined and the results were unpredictable.
This can be configured using the API manageCommonCode API to set priortities against the respective DGs.Please refer to the java doc for more details.

4. RTAM now considers procurements, based on a specified threshold. When availability falls below the threshold, RTAM calculates and publishes the number of items that your store or node can procure and when the procured inventory can be shipped. Thus, stores that rely on procurements can provide their customers with accurate information about the availability of future quantities and when future quantities can be shipped.
This can be configured using the API manageInventoryMonitorRule API to set specify the attribute ConsiderProcurementAtLevel. Please refer to the java doc for more details.
