How to monitor Control Center for poor data base performance.

Technical Blog Post

Abstract

How to monitor Control Center for poor data base performance.

Body

Control Center 6.1 needs good database performance to run well, as it is much more reliant on the database than previous versions.

It is important for customers to ensure the indices for the Control Center databases are maintained on a regular basis.

You can write a rule to watch for the message ID CCTR135I, to know, without looking at the log files, database performance issues exist

As of Control Center 6101 iFix05, you can write a rule to watch for the message ID CCTR138I, another database performance issue indicator, which is associated with log messages like this one:

[EventMonitor] WARN  EventMonitor - GORCR9999W:  None: CCTR138I Time EventMonitor took to retrieve data from EVENTS database table was: nnnnnn milliseconds
