Abstract

How to Enable Logging

Body

Almost all troubleshooting efforts require IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (SI) log files. Equally as frequent, for many issues IBM will provide to you a list of "must gather" log files. Logging is enabled via the main administrative dashboard by selecting Operations -> System -> Logs

If you have more than one node, you can select the node on which you wish to enable the logs via the Select Node field (highlighted above, in yellow). To enable a given log, you will need to locate the corresponding entry and click on the pencil and paper icon. For example, if IBM requests the HTTP Server Adapter log (http.log) then you need to scroll down until you locate that entry. Here you can see that logging is currently set to off.

Clicking on the  pencil and paper icon and click the "On" for the logging level then Save

Log files are written to the "logs" sub-directory under the main directory in which SI was installed. For example: /opt/apps/SI/logs  In the case of the http log it will be named http.log.Dyyyymmdd.Txxxxxx where yyyy = the current year, mm = the current month and dd=the current day (in numbers) and the xxxxxx are all numeric as well. If additional logs have been requested by support, please tar or zip the files into a single package and upload that to the PMR.
