Has I have previously blogged about, Rational Software Architect now
includes a really cool sketching capability. However there are a couple
of different ways you can create sketches and the approach used can
impact how these can be quickly included in deliverables .
The two options are :
1) as a diagram ( or part of a model diagram) within a UML or Topology model, OR
2) as a stand alone .Sketch "artifact" in an Model project.
In #1, as you can see from the sketch below, one can organize a set of diagrams as you would when doing UML or Topology modeling, and then only use the contents of the sketching palette to create these diagrams.
The second approach involves creating a sketch as a separate artifact in a model. Using this approach you get a .sketch file to work with.
This can be a quick and effect approach to organize thoughts...... however....
