Hi!

Nice to see you blog again, Serge.
This post is just what we need. We are using DB2 10.1 fixpack2 and we use JDBC to access the database in our application. For admin purposes we use a Windows based application via ODBC.
Accessing database over network via JDBC is slower that using ODBC over the same network. How can we trace/monitor/debug the JDBC driver to find out where we are losing against ODBC?

Best regards,
Kovi

This is still the only place I've seen this performance issue with enableExtendedDescribe talked about. Congrats !!!

It mentions that JDBC is requesting the extended metadata from DRDA. Can this be turned off within DRDA to prevent JDBC from requesting it?
