I've now figured out how to do this - and will be testing it out with my current (Austrian) client. Nice to be in a country that can handle snow, as I was on Monday and Tuesday. :-)

Martin, FTP is clearly more convenient. You could ask your customers to do the subsetting and/or zipping.

Sadly so far my experience of FTPing has not been all that positive. But I'll keep on trying - I'm not giving up on this one.
