I spent part of the morning upgrading some of my machines to the just released final version of Firefox 2.0....so far so good. Everything seems to be working and I like the visible enhancements (many of the enhancements are more behind the scenes in nature in this release I think - such as the built in phishing protection).
As far as I can tell only one of my extensions does not seem to have a Firefox 2.0 compatible version available yet but I am told it is coming soon. I like the close button on individual tabs and the RSS/Atom support seems a bit better but I'd still like to see it expanded more. I'd like to see the feed preview mode be expanded into more of a full feed reader type of interface. I am not a big fan of LiveBookmarks as they still require visiting the site to read the posting. I like the option to have Firefox remember the tabs and pages that you had open last time and restore them when you start the browser up again.
The only thing so far that struck me as odd is that my history list seems to have been erased as part of the upgrade - that one is a bit annoying.
I usually install pre-release versions of Firefox, but I had been soproductive on 1.5 I had not yet bothered, until today, to install anyof the 2.0 releases so this is my first serious look at 2.0 and, as Isaid, so far so good. It looks like firefox is continuing to get betterwith each release and I use it almost exclusively these days for mybrowsing needs.
