Hi, does this mean the array goes from having a small number of datastore volumes to potentially thousands of volumes?

In response to wigginit, yes.

Hi Mr Pearson, <div>&nbsp;</div> Is vVol support is in the V7000 future? Your post mentions XIV but nothing about the V7000. <div>&nbsp;</div> Thanks

Michel, <br /> I am not allowed to discuss future plans in this blog. However, I can say that SVC, Storwize V7000 and XIV are the primary products intended for VMware support and so I suspect the V7000 will have vVOL support at the same time or soon after the XIV. Of course, other disk systems like DS8000 have VMware support, but the three above will have it first. <br /> -- Tony
