it not a commitment that IBM will deliver specific features or capabilities, or that
IBM will deliver any product releases at all. Future product direction, dates, features
or capabilities can change at any time without notice. The screen shots in the blog

In this week’s Sametime Sunday, I will discuss the click to talk functionality in Sametime
7.5. Instant Messaging (IM) and awareness are allowing businesses to communicate
virtually instantaneous across multiple platforms and devices. As The New York Times
published last week, I.M. Generation Is Changing the Way Business Talks.
IBM Sametime 7.5 extends IM and meeting capabilities to include Voice over IP technology
(VoIP) built into the product. The VoIP in Sametime 7.5 uses the computers configured
microphone and speakers to allow voice communication without the need for a telephone or
phone number. Sametime 7.5 allows me to start a voice chat directly from within an IM.
The Sametime 7.5 client also allows users to start a voice chat without having to first
itinitiate a text chat first. From my buddy list window, I can right click on any Sametime
7.5 user and initiate a voice chat.
The Sametime 7.5 client also allows the user to customize multiple preferences as shown below.
More to come next week. In the meantime, register for a free demo.
