Exciting news today announced at the DNUG/IBM Lotus Technical Forum about the next release of Lotus Notes to include Open Document Format (ODF). Some of you may already be familiar with this with the Workplace Managed Client. Hannover will support a suit of productivity tools including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation. The tools can be used to create and share documents with other ODF clients.
The productivity tools also has the ability to import and edit existing Microsoft Office documents. This allows these documents to then be converted to ODF standards and leveraged through other ODF clients.
