Robert Scoble, now Bill Gates
I wasn't that surprised when I first read the article that Bill Gates was stepping down as chief software architect. His name and title(s) are known globally throughout the software industry as the founder of Microsoft. While gates has always been very optimistic about the software Microsoft produces, there has been great pressure with some of there solutions. Gates acknowledges IBM as his biggest competitor. IBM product roadmaps are clear and crisp with new features released on time. The IBM software product suit offers a broader range of solutions as they support multiple platforms. If Microsoft want to competitively compete with IBM software product suit, it was no surprise to see Gates new job to former Lotus employee Ray Ozzie.
Many of you probably are familiar with Ray Ozzie as one of the founders of Iris development (History of Notes and Domino). Ray went on to found Groove Networks in 1997 before Microsoft acquired them over a year ago.
