Abstract

Tech Tip: DB2's new CLP Plus utility

Body

Starting with version 9.7 DB2 has a new Command Line utility called CLPPlus. This utility can be used to run both commands and scripts and unlike the CLP is included with the Data Server Driver for ODBC and CLI and the Data Server Driver Package. The command to start the utility “clpplus” by default starts a Java Window which on Linux and Unix platforms requires a X Windows server and the DISPLAY environment variable to be set. It is possible to enable the CLPPlus environment without utilizing X Windows by issuing the command “clpplus -nw”. This command will cause CLPPlus to use the current shell for its environment.

Additional information on CLPPlus can be found at the following URLs.
