DB2 LUW : What is difference between DB2 "wse instance type" and "wse edition"?

QUESTION:
There is an environment:

  License : AWSE  
  Instance type : wse  ( db2icrt -a server -p db2hoge -s wse -u fenc1 )

As below page, AWSE default instance type AWSE is "ese".<br>

Used to create an instance for a database server with local and remote  clients.  
This option is the default instance type for DB2 Advanced Enterprise  
Server Edition, DB2 Advanced Workgroup Server Edition, DB2 Enterprise  
Server Edition, or DB2 Workgroup Server Edition.

Now, what kind of problem may be occurred if instance type is "wse" on DB2 V10.5 AWSE
edition license?  Are there any limitation under "wse" instance type with AWSE edition
license?

Basically, DB2 licenses are for the server edition not for an instance type.

In the specific case, the user has a license for AWSE so the user can
use "partitioned database environment" as stated at
"Functionality in DB2 product editions and DB2 offerings".

From the instance type point of view, we might need to know
there is difference between Windows and Unix(and linux).

On Windows, if the user already created the wse instance,
they need to run db2iupdt for migrating from wse to ese as
stated at
"For root installation on Windows operating systems" section of
"db2icrt - Create instance command" as you pointed out.

However, on UNIX and Linux, user can use wse or ese instance type
since there is no difference between the two types for "partitioned
database environment" as stated at.
"For root installation on Linux and UNIX operating systems" section of
"db2icrt - Create instance command".

So the answer is: it depends on which platform.  Please review the
"db2icrt - Create instance command" and found out
two sections, one for "UNIX and Linux", and the other for "Windows".

It might be nice that refer to KC pages, especially db2icrt and db2iupdt.
