Here is a simple DB2 command which will display the DB2 products that are installed on the system:
db2ls - it displays the Install path, product level, fix pack details, Special Install Number, Installation date , Installer UID. The db2ls command is the only method to list all DB2 product at Version 9 or later. However you cannot use the db2ls command on Windows operating systems.
db2pd is a very powerful tool which can be used for troubleshooting many complex issue in DB2 like - high memory usage, locking issues, HADR, and collecting various statistics. It can also be used to find out a simple thing like how long the instance has been up.
db2pd with a '-' option displays the uptime for an instance. It displays the number of days and hours the instance has been running. No database connection is required.

There are 3 error messages that commonly occur related to Stored Procedures and Functions (collectively referred to as routines). These are SQL0440, SQL1131 and SQL0443.
A SQL0440 returns an error indicating the routine does not exist. Usually when this error occurs the routine does exist but is being called incorrectly. Routines can be overloaded so two or more routines can be created using the same schema and name if they use either a different number of input or return variables (3 input as opposed to 2) or different data... How do you keep the result of overall SQL performance data in your DB2 system ?
I could see many DB2 mates have used our long last friend DB2 dynamic SQL snapshot for checking performance statistics of SQL statements.
And we have another friend 'mon_get_pkg_cache_stmt' who shows more performance aspect especially in elapsed time perspective.
Some smart DBAs regularly gather this result and keep in a table to see the changes and trend.
It's also good idea to load the data into other database if you have. Somebody... [More]
Many have been utilizing the light weight deployment solution i.e. IBM Data Server Driver Package that provides run-time support for applications without the need to install Run-time Client/Data Server Client. We already have DS Driver install demos for Windows out there, but not for Unix platforms, So, I would like to take this opportunity to share a demo of IBM Data Server Driver install in a Unix environment. The documentation is in our Knowledge Center:... [More]
Are you stuck with DB2 installation/upgrade/migration?
I am listing down few common check points to start with:
1. Please look for any db2 related processes running on the system. You may run 'ps -elf | grep -i db2' on unix or look for db2* processes in task manager on windows and see what db2 processes are running. You may want to shutdown/kill the process if it is not required.
2. Please make sure *all* db2 filesystems are mounted and accessible.
3. Please make sure you have enough free space under /opt, /tmp and... [More]

How to remove Duplicate Rows in a nonfragmented IBM Informix Dynamic Server (IDS) Table .
Use the SQL in this article to remove duplicate rows from a nonfragmented table.
Note: This method does not work on fragmented tables. Rowid's must exist on the table.
Create and run this SQL to remove duplicate rows from a table:

-1213 A character to numeric conversion process failed.
A character value is being converted to numeric form for storage in a numeric column or variable.
However, the character string cannot be interpreted as a number. It contains some characters
other than white space, digits, a sign, a decimal, or the letter e; or the parts are in the wrong order,
so the number cannot be deciphered.

FMP memory can be configured with the help of the registry variable DB2_FMP_COMM_HEAPSZ and the database manager configuration parameter aslheapsz.
The default DB2_FMP_COMM_HEAPSZ is 256 MB on AIX and 20 MB on other OS
memory used by each FMP process = 2 * ASLHEAPSZ
If the active fenced routines exceed this limit then we see the following message in the db2diag.log

By default, 64 bit Windows versions use a 64 bit ODBC Administrator utility. How do I install a 32 bit version of ODBC to work with IBM Informix Dynamic Server, when I am using a 64 bit Windows version?
The menu option Administrative Tools->Data Sources (ODBC), is the Windows 7 utility used to maintain ODBC data sources and drivers. The path for this ODBC administrator utility is "%windir%\system32\odbcad32.exe". Although it is referenced as "32" in the path name, it is a 64 bit... [More]

OAT is first bundled with CSDK in 3.70.TC4 fixpaks (32 bit) . This does not include the 64-bit CSDK 3.70.FC4 or higher on Windows
You can install the 32-bit OAT on a Windows 64-bit machine.
