Signing into the IBM Support Portal

IBM Support Portal anonymously, and when you do, it remembers which products you've selected when you come back for your next visit. You don't have to sign in to have that benefit. But signing in does give you some additional features -- most notably the ability to add, delete, and move portlets on the pages. (This feature is so much fun it distracts our usability test participants and we have to ask them to stop playing around with it and go on to the next task. You definitely should try it out.)
So we do recommend you sign in when you use the portal. However, lately you may have noticed some strange behavior when you signed in. And in fact we've uncovered a bug that is causing it. The fix will be in an August point release, but meanwhile, if you want to sign in to the Support Portal, click the graphic at the top of the portal pages rather than the masthead sign in link to authenticate. And then you can rearrange portlets to your hearts content.
