Starting this month, when you go to technical support documents for a select number of IBM products you'll see stars -- as in star ratings. We've started rolling out a 5 star rating system on technotes that lets you weigh in on how valuable the document was, and lets you see how others have rated the document.
Among the first products to get the star treatment are Websphere MQ, Websphere Commerce, DB2 for Linux, Unix and Windows, Informix Servers, Maximo Asset Management, Tivoli Directory Server, Lotus Connections, Lotus Sametime, Rational ClearCase, Filenet Content Manager, Content Manager Enterprise Edition, and Storage N series.
Over time, more products will be added to the list until you're able to rate all of our support content and see what others thought about the document. We'll also start using the ratings to develop top-rated document lists in the Support Portal so you can quickly find the content your peers think is most useful. And the ratings will appear when you're viewing a list of documents in the portal, so you can hone in on the best information.
Rating is as easy as clicking a star, so get started evaluating technical support documents as you use them. As everyone adds ratings, it will start to become clear which documents really deserve a closer look.
