As you may know, the IBM Software Toolbar was created as an interim, unsupported tool to help our software clients find all support and electronic support resources quickly. Since that time, IBM has transformed electronic support, consolidating tools to serve hardware and software, and improving other tools to simplify support.
The IBM Support Portal is a unified, customizable view of all technical support tools and information for all IBM systems, software, and services. It succeeds all legacy IBM technical support sites, including the IBM Software Toolbar.
If you have not used the Support Portal yet, try it out.
1. Access the IBM Support Portal: http
2. Select one or more products of interest to you. (10 for active viewing up to 100 in your saved list)
3. View your page
4. Click Sign in and enter your IBM ID and password to customize the view. If you don't have an IBM ID yet, click Register on the Sign in form
For additional assistance, watch our Getting Started with IBM Support Portal Using Quick Start video on YouTube.
We'll be leaving the toolbar up until December 31, 2010, to allow our clients to migrate to the fully support IBM Support Portal. Existing toolbar users can continue to use their currently installed toolbar. However, you should be aware that it will no longer be supported, which means that the links may go stale and it may no longer work with new browsers and / or updates.
Starting January 1st, the IBM Support Tool bar will be sunset. Please use the IBM Support Portal as the starting point for all your on-line technical support needs.
As always, stay tuned and stay connected to IBM Electronic Support Tools by following this blog, following ibm_eSupport on Twitter, or subscribing to IBME
