2010 The Electronic Support Year In Review

2010 has been a big and busy year for IBM Electronic Support. Amidst the mass of migrations, new releases, awards won and conferences attended, here are some of the highlights.
The "NEW" IBM Support Portal was unveiled in January, 2010. Since then, all areas of IBM have been in the process of planning or implementing migration to the new portal. It opened with Lotus products and much of Software Group products followed suite. In September, Power systems products migrated to the portal, and just this month, the IBM Software Toolbar did the same. IBM is converging on one place for complete, customized support, and that place is the IBM Support Portal.
It appears that the IBM Support Portal has made quite an impression outside of IBM as well. This year, the IBM Support Portal won the prestigious "The Year's Ten Best Web Support Sites" award from the Association of Support Professionals (ASP).
Aside from the IBM Support Portal, we've also had major releases of some of our other Electronic Support Tools portfolio. Fix Central had 2 major releases this year. You can get to FIx Central from the Downloads page of the IBM Support Portal. There were also two major relases of IBM Support Assistant / ISA Lite. You can access ISA / ISA Lite from the Troubleshooting page of the IBM Support Portal. The IBM Service Request Tool released some major enhancements as well, easily accessible from the "service requests" option from the Choose your page menu on the left of any portal page.
Technical Chat is featured for some products through the IBM Service Request tool, for example, Lotus, System x and WebSphere MQ.
In April, we also created the IBME
Perhaps the most important highlight of all, the on-line electronic support community is growing, thanks to you.
You came out to meet us in person at the following conferences: Pulse, LotusSphere, IBM IMPACT, IOD EMEA, IOD Las Vegas, IBM Systemx / Storage University. Finally, you got connected with one or more of the following social media accounts we created this year. As of 12/23, we have a total community of 795, which breaks down as follows:
